In this quarter, the company produced 8.59 million tons of iron ore, which is 7.1% less than in the previous quarter and 9.8% more than in the previous year. In particular, production at the Kolomela iron ore mine totaled 2.03 million tons, down 30.0% quarter-on-quarter and 5.1% year-on-year, while production at the Sishen mine increased 3.4% quarter-on-quarter and 15.4% year-on-year to 6.56 million tons. In the fourth quarter, Kumba iron ore sales totaled 8.71 million tons, down 9.6% from the previous quarter and 4.7% from the same period in 2024.
For the full year, the company produced 36.08 million tons of iron ore, up year-on-year, while it sold 37.04 million tons of iron ore, up two percent year-on-year. In particular, production at the Kolomela iron ore mine amounted to 10.80 million tons, an increase of seven percent year-on-year, while production at the Sishen mine fell by one percent year-on-year to 25.29 million tons.
According to his statement, Kumba achieved an average realized price of $95/wmt for the year, compared to $92/wmt in 2024.
Kumba forecasts production in the range of 31-33 million tons in 2026 and 35-37 million tons in 2027.
