The production of metal rolling and pipes is reduced in Ukraine, but steel production is growing

In February 2013, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine reduced the production of metal products to 4 million 243 thousand tons, which is 7.1% less than in February 2012. The production of steel pipes decreased to 121 thousand 600 tons, which is 40% less than a year earlier. This was reported by the Cabinet of Ministers.

At the same time, from the beginning of this year to the end of February, 4 million 243 tons of metal rolling were manufactured in Ukraine, which is 1.4% less than in the first two months of last year. The production of steel pipes during this time was reduced to 215 thousand 500 tons, which is 43% less in annual calculus.

In the first two months of this year, manufacturers in Ukraine increased its production to 5 million 446 thousand tons, which is 3.1% more than these months a year ago. Cast iron smelting amounted to 4 million 758 thousand tons, which is also 2.4% more than in January - February 2012.

The production of metallurgical coke at the enterprises of Ukraine decreased in February to 1 million 369 thousand tons, which is 17% less than last month and 8% less in an annual comparison. In January - February, 2 million 891 thousand tons of coke were produced in the country - 8% less than in the same period last year.

In the first two months of this year, the production of iron ore concentrate increased by 2% - to 11 million 55 thousand tons, the production of pellets decreased in the specified period to 3 million 410 thousand tons, which is 9% less than a year earlier.
