New Car Registrations in South Korea Increased by 37.6% in January 2026

According to data released by the Korean Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), in January of this year, new car registrations in South Korea decreased by 26.7 percent month-on-month and increased by 37.6 percent year-on-year to 20,960 units.

BMW had the largest share in sales with 29.91 percent, followed by Mercedes-Benz with 24.43 percent.
