Italian manufacturer Danieli has announced that it has signed a contract with Indian steel company JSW Steel to design and supply a water treatment plant (WTP) to service the third phase of the 4.5 million tonne hot strip plant expansion at its Dolvi Works in Maharashtra, India.
One of the largest water treatment projects at Dolvi
According to Danieli, the new water treatment plant will supply cooling water to the hot belt, casting and tunnel furnaces for thin slab casting and rolling at the JSW Steel Dolvi site. The new plant is scheduled to be operational by December 2026.
The total cooling water circuit capacity will be approximately 58,000 m³/h. The manufacturer said this capacity will make the installation one of the largest water treatment installations completed by Danieli to date.
Daniel Technology for Efficiency
Daniel highlighted that the WTP will include DanFilters™, a proprietary filtration technology designed to deeply filter water at high flow rates. The manufacturer indicated that the compact layout will allow efficient use of space, a key requirement at the Dolvi plant, and will also ensure high operational reliability and simplified maintenance.
