Japanese steel company Kobe Steel Ltd has released financial results for the first nine months ended December 31, 2025-26 fiscal year.
During this period, Kobe Steel reported a net profit of 84.33 billion yen ($550.98 million), an increase from a net profit of 116.84 billion yen recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The company's consolidated net sales revenue for the first nine months of the fiscal year was 1.77 trillion yen ($11.61 billion), down 5.6% year-on-year.
The company said that lower selling prices per unit in the steel segment, increased costs and a deterioration in inventory estimates affected profits.

For the entire fiscal year 2025-26, Kobe Steel's steel production is expected to be about 5.80 million tons, with sales of about 4.60 million tons. In addition, Kobe Steel expects sales revenue of 2.44 trillion yen in the full fiscal year.
