According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), for the week ending February 7, 2026, domestic crude steel production in the United States totaled 1.783 million tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 77.1 percent.
Production for the week ending February 7, 2026 increased by 1.4 percent compared to the previous week ending January 31, 2026, when production was 1.758 million tons net and the capacity utilization factor was 76.0 percent.
Production totaled 1,700 million net tons for the week ended February 7, 2025, while capacity utilization was 76.3 percent. Production this week represents an increase of 4.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Adjusted production from the beginning of the year to February 7, 2026 amounted to 9.557 million tons of net with a capacity utilization factor of 76.2 percent. This is a 3.7 percent increase compared to 9.218 million tons of net in the same period last year, when the capacity utilization rate was 76.3 percent.
