In January, Brazil exported 26.519 million tons of iron ore (excluding pellets) and 2.006 million tons of pellets against 37.614 million tons and 2.628 million tons, respectively, in December. This reduction in iron ore mainly reflects a reduction in shipments to China of 8.0 million tons
Iron ore exports were directed to Asia (23.107 million tons, of which 20.259 million tons to China), Europe (1.562 million tons), the Middle East (889,200 tons), South America (532,900 tons), Mexico (253,900 tons) and Africa (173,200 tons).
Pellets were exported to Asia (630,500 million tons), Africa (483,309 tons), Europe (334,400 tons), South America (229,500 tons), Trinidad and Tobago (173,400 tons) and the USA (155,374 tons).
