Ukrainian steel pipe and railway wheel manufacturer Interpipe announced the launch of production of oil and gas tubing equipped with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) O-rings, strengthening its competitive position in the oil and gas market.
Special rings sourced from the USA were integrated into Interpipe's production process at that time how threading operations are performed in the Interpipe Niko Tube factory.
Increased pressure resistance and longer life
PTFE O-rings are typically used to improve resistance to external pressure and provide an additional seal to internal pressure. Although this solution is widely used in the global oil and gas market, it remains a niche product segment.
Commenting on the development, Bartłomiej Kania, Interpipe OCTG Sales Manager for Continental Europe, stated that by mastering this technology, Interpipe has joined a limited group of qualified suppliers capable of offering such solutions alongside the world's leading players industry.
The inclusion of pipes with PTFE O-rings in Interpipe's product portfolio further strengthens the company's position as a reliable partner for complex oil and gas production projects.
