The project will start during the current fiscal year 2025-26.
This expansion will significantly strengthen the company's coking coal portfolio and further strengthen its long-term supply position, especially in meeting the growing demand from the domestic steel sector, the company said.
BCCL has also successfully commissioned its Bhojudih coal washing plant with a capacity of 2 million tons per year.
The washing machine is expected to reach peak performance within the next two to three weeks. With its commissioning, the company's mined coal production is projected to increase, which will lead to improved sales and increased added value.
The commissioning of the Bhojudih washing plant is also expected to support steel producers by ensuring the availability of high-quality washed coking coal.
