Car sales in Turkey stood at 77,590 units in January this year, down 60.8 percent compared to December last year and up 10.1 percent year-on-year, according to monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automobile Manufacturers Association (OSD). In the same month, passenger car sales in Turkey were 61,055 units, up 9.1 percent year-on-year.
This month, the country's total automobile exports were 64,725 units, down 17.2 percent year-on-year, while passenger car exports were 34,250 units, down 27.6 percent year-on-year. In the same month, the country exported 22,332 small trucks, down 0.7 percent from last year.
In January, Turkey's total automobile imports were 50,036 units, up 5.1 percent from last year, while passenger car imports were 38,723 units, up 3.5 percent from last year.
