U.S. imports of wafer coils totaled 34,528 tons in November 2025, down 27.8 percent from October and down 46.5 percent from November 2024, according to preliminary U.S. Commerce Department census data. In value terms, coil slab imports were $25.65 million in November 2025, up from $30.16 million in October and $52.35 million in November 2024.
The United States imported the most coil slabs from Canada in November with 14,070 tonnes, up from 29,850 tonnes in October and 43,646 tonnes in November 2024. Other major sources of imported slabs in November include South Korea with 8,217 metric tons, the Netherlands with 4,167 metric tons, Sweden with 2,531 metric tons and France with 2,324 metric tons.
