According to the Spanish steel producers Association UNESCO, last December, Spanish steel production totaled 686,000 tons, down 25.4 percent month-on-month and 38.3 percent year-on-year. For the whole of 2025, the country's steel production amounted to 11.80 million tons, compared with 11.87 million tons recorded in 2024.
In this month, the Spanish steel industry processed 575,000 tons of scrap to be used for new steel products, down 31.0 percent from the previous month and down 27.8 percent year-on-year. In 2025, the industry processed 9.60 million tons of scrap.
