In January of this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's leading trading partner, amounted to $247.1 million, including imports of $194.98 million, up 9.9%, and exports of $52.12 million, up 121.9% year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In this month, Georgia's imports of ingots and bars of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey amounted to 35,711 tons, compared with 50 tons in the corresponding month last year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports amounted to $21.31 million, an increase from $38,000 in January 2025.
