Ukrainian Interpipe supplies casing pipes for geothermal exploration in Poland

Interpipe, a Ukrainian manufacturer of steel pipes and railway wheels, has announced the supply of casing pipes for the POLICE GT-1 geothermal exploration project in Poland, supporting the assessment of hydrogeological conditions for a future thermal water heating plant.

High-performance casing string for drilling to a depth of 2,400 meters

Interpipe supplied a casing with a diameter of 13 3/8 inches for an intermediate column in Poland. high-performance L80 steel grade, specially developed for geothermal exploration and appraisal wells.

The pipes have been designed to withstand significant downhole loads while maintaining optimal wall thickness to ensure fracture resistance. To increase durability in environments with high salt content, susceptible to chloride corrosion.

The drilling program included drilling a vertical well to a planned depth of 2,400 meters in order to extract water at a minimum temperature of 70°C and an expected capacity of 250 m3/h. The final depth reached was 2,165 meters.
