Baker Hughes reported that for the week ended February 27, 2026, the number of rotary drilling rigs in the United States fell one week on week to 550.
The number of gas and oil drilling rigs remained unchanged at 134 and 407, respectively. The total U.S. rig count fell by 43 rigs compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by two to 214 rigs for the week ended Feb. 27. The number of drilling rigs in Canada decreased by 34 compared to the same reporting period the previous year.
