In the first two months of the current year, the Ilyich Mariupol Metallurgical Plant Metinvest Metinvest reduced the production of steel to 859 thousand tons, which is 6% less than in January - February 2012. This was reported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine.
In addition, the production of metal rolling during this period was reduced by 7% - to 710 thousand tons and cast iron smelting also amounted to 714 tons, which is 12.8% less than in the first two months of 2012.
As we have already reported, last year the Ilyich MMK produced 5 million 150 thousand tons of steel, smelted 4 million 517 thousand tons of cast iron and manufactured 4 million 329 thousand tons of metal rolling.
