The European Commission has announced that it has approved a €1.1 billion French state aid scheme aimed at supporting strategic investments in clean technology production capacity in line with the EU's clean industry goals.
The measure was assessed and approved in accordance with the Clean Industry State Aid Framework (CISAF) adopted on 25 June 2025. It represents the eighth clean technology production scheme approved under CISAF, bringing the total support authorized to more than €10 billion.
Focus on solar, wind, batteries and heat pumps
Under this scheme, France will support investments that expand domestic production capacity for zero-emission technologies listed in Annex II of CISAF.
Eligible technologies include solar panels, offshore and onshore wind technologies, heat pumps and battery technologies. The measure also covers key components of these systems, as well as the critical raw materials associated with them.
The assistance will be provided in the form of tax incentives and will be available throughout France. The scheme will operate until December 31, 2028.
