The value of South Africa's base metals exports rose 1.9 percent in January 2026 compared to December

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in January this year, the value of South African non-ferrous metals and products exports was 12.68 billion South African rials ($776.55 million), up 1.9 percent from December.

In January, the country's imports of non-ferrous metals and products amounted to 8.56 billion yuan ($524.38 million), an increase of 30.1 percent compared to the previous month.
