U.S. imports of rebar totaled 57,847 tons last December, up 134.8 percent month-on-month and 1.4 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Department of Commerce. In value terms, rebar imports totaled $31.9 million in December last year, up from $13.48 million in November and $39.53 million in December 2024.
The United States imported the most rebar from Turkey in December, at 49,880 tons, up from 7,931 tons in November. Other leading sources of rebar imports in December included the Dominican Republic with 4,050 tons, South Korea with 1,660 tons and Brazil with 1,472 tons.
