Brazilian slab exports rose to 794,200 metric tons (mt) in February, up 93% from January 2026 (410,900 mt), according to the country's foreign trade secretariat Secex.
As analysts expected, with the resumption of export sales of slabs to the United States after a pause in January, slab exports totaled 537,900 mt in February, accounting for 68% of the total.
February exports showed Ternium at 287,900 tons of total volume in the USA at an average of $592/t, ArcelorMittal Pecem at 156,200 tons at an average price of $482/t in the USA, Mexico at 46,500 tons at $ 517/t, Poland at 40,500 tons with an average of $445/t, 30,200 tons at $465/t for Spain, 28,800 tons at $465/t for Germany, and finally 7,500 tons at $490/t for Belgium, all FOB terms.
Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal Tubarão exported 92,900 tons at $552/ton to the United States, 73,200 tons at $477 per ton to France and 30,500 tons at $499 per ton to Spain, Secex said.
