Vietnamese steel manufacturer Hoa Phat Group announced that it has completed equipment upgrades and officially started production operations at its Hoa Phat Long An steel pipe plant, marking a move to expand production and markets both domestically and exported.
Total investment in the plant, with an annual production capacity of 410,000 tons, was VND 2.6 trillion (USD 99.1 million). The project was implemented in two stages, the first stage was completed in December 2025. Located in Long An Province, a key logistics gateway connecting Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta, the plant is expected to create jobs for nearly 1,000 local workers.
Wide range of products for infrastructure projects
The plant produces a wide range of steel pipes used in civil, industrial and infrastructure construction, including:
- black steel pipes
- galvanized steel pipes
- hot-dip galvanized pipes
- steel pipes in coils
- large diameter pipes
Production lines are equipped with modern imported technologies, which allows plant to improve both product quality and workmanship efficiency.
Supporting major infrastructure projects
The Long An plant's steel pipes are already being used in several major infrastructure projects in Vietnam, including Long Thanh International Airport, Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal and Phu Quoc Airport expansion projects.
Once the plant reaches full capacity, the total production of steel pipes by Hoaphate will grow to about 1.2. million tonnes per annum, further strengthening its position as Vietnam's leading steel pipe manufacturer with a 31.2 percent domestic market share.
The project is expected to enhance the company's ability to serve the growing southern Vietnam market while expanding export opportunities in the region.
