China claims 80% of new shipbuilding orders in the world in February 2026

In February, China attracted 80 percent of new shipbuilding orders (4.15 million CGT, 131 vessels) in the world, ranking first in the global market, while South Korea took 11 percent (570,000 CGT), ranking second, according to Clarksons, the world's leading provider of integrated shipping services.
