Japanese vehicle production (including cars, trucks and buses) totaled 691,156 units last December, up 1.9 percent from the same month in 2024, according to data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA). Meanwhile, Japan's auto production increased 2.1 percent year-on-year in 2025 to 8,410,334 units.
Domestic auto sales in Japan totaled 335,459 vehicles in December, up 1.7 percent from the same month in 2024. Meanwhile, for the full year, domestic auto sales in Japan rose 3.2 percent year-on-year to 4,565,777 units.
Meanwhile, auto exports totaled 368,380 units in December, down 7.8 percent year-on-year. In 2025, Japanese car exports fell by one percent year on year to 4,172,815 units.
