According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January of this year, the volume of imports of hot rolled coils (HRC) in Turkey decreased by 50.2 percent month-on-month and by 70.1 percent year-on-year to 127,180 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $70.39 million, which is 49.1% less month-on-month and 70.4% less year-on-year.

In the specified month, Turkey imported 58,726 tons of HRC from Russia, which is 45 percent less year-on-year, with Russia being the leading source of HRC imports to Turkey, ahead of Malaysia, which supplied 24,801 tons in the specified month, and South Korea, which supplied 17,891 tons of HRC.
