P. Morgan to support its next phase of growth and prepare for its first commercial scale production facility.
The financing will help the company advance its planning and development activities as it moves towards commercializing its low-emission iron production technology.
Low-emission iron smelting technology
Electra technology is based on electrical enrichment, a process long used in the mining and metallurgical industries. The system converts a wide range of iron ores into high purity iron without traditional blast furnaces, which significantly reduces emissions.
The modular design of the company's plant ensures a phased expansion, which helps reduce initial capital requirements and accelerate market entry.
Thanks to additional funding from J.
P. With Morgan and its diversified capital base, Electra said it now has the resources it needs to continue scaling its technology and transition to commercial production by the end of the decade.
The company aims to play a role in decarbonizing steel supply chains by providing a new source of pure iron for steel producers moving to low-carbon production routes.
