Tin is used primarily as a safe, non–toxic metal with corrosion. The main industrial applications of tin are in tinplate (tinned iron) for the manufacture of food containers, in solders for electronics, in house pipelines, in bearing alloys and coatings made of tin and its alloys. The most important alloy of tin is bronze (with copper).
