Mexican long products manufacturer SIMEC reported net income of MXN 1.532 billion ($85.7 million) for 2025, down significantly from the MXN 3.152 billion net income it posted in 2024, the company said in a press release today.
The company reported a negative net financial result of MXN 2.493 billion for 2025 compared to a positive result of 7.239 billion Mexican pesos in 2024. This shift contributed significantly to the decline in net income, despite a modest improvement in operating performance in 2025.
On the same comparative basis, net sales decreased 10 percent to MXN 30.291 billion and manufacturing costs decreased 13 percent to MXN 22.656 billion. Gross profit increased 0.1 percent to MXN7.634 billion and operating profit rose 1.2 percent to MXN5.365 billion.
Volume sales decreased 6 percent to 1.933 million metric tons (MT).
Simec produces long and specialty steel products in Mexico and Brazil.
