In January of this year, the volume of coking coal imports to Turkey decreased by 7.5 percent month-on-month and decreased by 6.1 percent year-on-year to 480,651 metric tons, according to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports amounted to $100.17 million, an increase of 12.4% month-on-month and a decrease of 0.5% year-on-year.
Coking coal imports to Turkey - over the past 12 months
In this month, Turkey imported 245,325 tons of coking coal from Australia, ahead of the United States, which supplied 235,326 tons in this month, which is 26.2 percent less and 205.6 percent more year-on-year, respectively.
