Car sales in Turkey increased by 2.6 percent in January-February 2026

In February of this year, car sales in Turkey totaled 91,053 units, up 17.3 percent from January and down three percent year-on-year, according to monthly statistics released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Turkey (OSD). In the same month, passenger car sales in Turkey totaled 69,776 units, down 8.2 percent from last year. Meanwhile, in January-February of this year, car sales in Turkey totaled 168,595 units, an increase of 2.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the first two months of this year, car exports to Turkey amounted to 168,595 units, which is 8.7 percent less, while passenger car exports decreased by 22.5 percent to 72,150 units year-on-year. During the same period, the country exported 53,153 small trucks, which is 11.1 percent more than last year. In the specified period, revenues from total exports of motor vehicles and components increased by 10.0 percent to $6.47 billion, while revenues from exports of passenger cars totaled $1.7 billion, an increase of 0.8 percent year-on-year.

In February, total imports of motor vehicles to Turkey totaled 59,789 units, down 5.9 percent from last year, while imports of passenger cars totaled 44,582 units, down 13.4 percent from the previous year. In January-February of this year, the total import of motor vehicles to the country amounted to 109,874 units, a decrease of 1.1 percent, while the import of passenger cars amounted to 83,305 units.
