Export of iron ore via Port Hedland decreased by 18.7 percent in February 2026 compared to January

In February of this year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland decreased by 18.7 percent month-on-month and increased by eight percent year-on-year to 40,026,935 tons.

According to information published by the Port Authority Port Hedland, iron ore shipments from Port Hedland shipments to China totaled 34.06 million tons, down 19.9 percent from the previous month and up 7.8 percent year-on-year. South Korea and Japan followed China in February, receiving 3.39 million tons and 1.04 million tons, respectively.

On the other hand, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier decreased by 10.2% month-on-month in February and increased by 30.7% year-on-year to 10.76 million tons.
