S. Department of Commerce, imports of hot-rolled rolled products to the United States amounted to 59,879 tons in January this year, which is 27.9 percent more than in December and 62.6 percent less than in January 2025. In value terms, imports of HRC amounted to $38.97 million in January this year, compared with $31.16 million in December and $125.31 million in the same month last year.
The United States imported the largest amount of HRC from South Korea in January with 24,878 tons, compared with 12,903 tons in December and 9,349 tons in January last year. Other major sources of HRC imports in January include Canada with 13,547 metric tons, Mexico with 5,583 metric tons, Brazil with 5,014 metric tons, Turkey with 4,093 metric tons, Germany with 2,260 metric tons, the Netherlands with 2,220 metric tons and Sweden with 1,075 metric tons.
