Baker Hughes reported that for the week ended March 20, 2026, the number of rotary drilling rigs in the United States fell by one drilling week for the week to 552.
The number of gas drilling rigs decreased by two to 131 , and the number of oil drilling rigs increased by two to 414. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States decreased by 41 rigs compared to the same period last year.
. Meanwhile, the Canadian drilling rig count fell by 20 to 177 rigs for the week ended March 20. The number of drilling rigs in Canada decreased by three compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
