In January-February of this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's leading trading partner, amounted to $499.5 million, including imports worth $415.64 million, up 18.9%, and exports worth $83.89 million, up 80.9% year-on-year, according to preliminary data. data provided by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first two months, Georgia's imports of ingots and bars made of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey amounted to 58 5,887 tons, compared with 715 tons in the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the cost of these imports amounted to $34.86 million, an increase from $460,200 in January-February 2025.
