According to preliminary census data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. cold-rolled coil imports totaled 67,531 tons in January this year, up 60.6 percent month-on-month and down 53.0 percent year-on-year. In value terms, CRC imports were $59.27 million in January this year, compared to $40.38 million in December and $139.9 million in January 2025.
The United States imported the most CRC from Canada in January with 16,413 tons, compared to 18,099 tons in December and 47,417 tons in January 2025. Other top sources of CRC imports in January include South Korea with 16,354 metric tons, Australia with 9,204 metric tons, the Netherlands with 4,772 metric tons and Belgium with 4,365 metric tons.
