Brazil's central foreign trade system Siscomex reported average freight rates for the country's steel imports in February.
For HRC, they were US$33 per ton (metric ton) for South Korea, US$58 per ton for China, US$48 per ton for Austria, US$37 per ton for Egypt and US$32 per ton for Turkey.
For CRC it was US$62/ton for South Korea, US$54/ton for China and US$56/ton for Sweden.
For coated flat products the price was US$56/ton from China, US$130/ton for South Korea, US$88/ton for Japan, US$76/ton for India, US$95/ton for Vietnam, US$38/ton for Turkey and $18/t for Egypt.
For wire rod it was $37/t for Egypt, $62/t for Russia, $72/t for China and $21/t for Germany.
For rebar it was $60/t for Russia, $80/t for China, $150/t for South Korea and $25/t for Turkey
For strip, $68. US/t from China, $28/t for Turkey and $58/t for Romania.
For beams: $61/t for China and $26/t for Turkey.
For wiring: $62/t for China, $16/t for Egypt, $62/t for France, $103/t for Austria and $31/t for Turkey
In February, Brazil's imports of finished steel products from China by volume were equivalent to 72 percent of the total, up from 62 percent in January.
The average freight rate for Brazilian steel imports in February was $55/t, versus $59/t in February.
