According to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce census, imports of pipe products from the petroleum countries (OCTG) in January this year amounted to 92,934 tons, which is 23.4 percent more than in December and 60.5 percent less year-on-year. In value terms, OCTG imports totaled $113.44 million in January, compared with $96.39 million in December and $295.52 million in the same month in 2025.
The United States imported the largest amount of OCTG from South Korea in January with 31,492 tons, compared with 6,736 tons in December and 115,359 tons in January 2025. Other main sources of OCTG imports in January include Austria with 14,356 metric tons, Taiwan with 13,721 metric tons, and Canada with 12,372 metric tons
