In February this year, China's total energy consumption per metric ton of steel produced rose 1.66 percent year on year, while total energy consumption by large and medium-sized steel mills in China - all CISA members - fell 2.91 percent year on year, according to the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
Meanwhile, total waste emissions in February gases from CISA member facilities decreased by 12.15 percent year on year. In particular, emissions of sulfur dioxide, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases decreased by 16.85%, 11.29% and 16.33% year on year, respectively.
