Mexico imposes preliminary AD duty on HR sheet steel from China, Vietnam

The Mexican Ministry of Economy has published the preliminary results of an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled sheet steel from China and Vietnam, the official Mexican newspaper reports.

The investigation was launched on March 3, 2025, at the request of the local steel manufacturer Ternium Mexico. The review period is set from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024, and the analysis period is set from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2024.

The Ministry stated that during the investigation period, there is sufficient preliminary evidence to support the conclusion that the import of the product under investigation was carried out at normal values and poses a threat of harm to the domestic industry. Preliminary anti-dumping duties are $216-230/mt for China and $196.9/mt for Vietnam.

The products in question are imported through tariff lines 7208.10.03, 7208.25.02, 7208.26.01, 7208.27.01, 7208.36.01, 7208.37.01, 7208.38.01, 7208.39.01, 7208.40.02, 7208.51.04, 7208.52.01, 7208.53.01, 7208.54.01, 7208.90.99, 7211.13.01, 7211.14.91, 7211.19.99, 7225.30.91, 7225.40.91 and 7226.91.07The General Law on Import and Export Taxes (TIGIE).
