German crude steel production increased by 9.9 percent in January-February 2026

In February of this year, German steel production increased by 4.8 percent year-on-year to 2.83 million tons, according to information provided by the German Steel Producers Federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first two months of this year, German steel production increased by 9.9 percent year-on-year to 5.92 million tons.

This month, German pig iron production totaled 1.81 million tons, an increase of 6.1 percent, while in January-February it increased by 12.5 percent to 3.85 million tons, year-on-year.

In February, the production of hot-rolled products in the country increased by 8.3 percent to 2.56 million tons, an increase of 5.7 percent to 5.3 million tons in the first two months of this year, compared with the same periods of the previous year.
