The new quotas for imports of finished steel, which will be in effect from February 24 to June 23, 2026, are stable at 445,469 metric tons. (t) at normal tax rates, Siscomex reported.
The new round of quotas covers the same products: rolled sheets, HRC, CRC, galvanized, electroplated and wire rod.
Updated on March 11, the new quotas have already reached the 35 percent average usage level, namely:
· Sheets in rolls: 19 percent of 1,284 tons
· HRC: 12 percent of 36,120 tons
· CRC Zinc coating: 19 percent of 84,203 tons
· Zinc coating: 43 percent of 144,285 tons
· Galvalum: 48 percent of 147,038 tons
· Wire rod: 100 percent of 32,534 tons
Volumes exceeding quotas during the period will be subject to the usual import tariff of 25 percent.
