According to China's customs authorities, from January to February this year, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 257,300 tons and 492,700 tons, up 16.93 percent and 34.78 percent year on year, respectively.
In February alone, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 122,600 tons. and 260,000 tons, down 15.32 percent and up 11.78 percent month-on-month, down 23.39 percent and 5.53 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In the first two months, China's net stainless steel exports were 225,400 tons, down 48.0 percent year-on-year. In February, China's net stainless steel exports alone totaled 49,600 tons, up 56.49 percent year-on-year.
In February this year, China's stainless steel scrap imports totaled 13,300 tons, down 6.65 percent from last month and up 125.1 percent year on year. Between January and February this year, China's imports of stainless steel scrap totaled 27,600 tons, up 101.67 percent year-on-year.
