According to preliminary data from the U.
S. Department of Commerce census, imports of rebar to the United States in January this year amounted to 101,984 tons, which is 76.3 percent more on a monthly basis and 38.5 percent less on an annual basis. In value terms, rebar imports totaled $56.86 million in January this year, compared with $31.91 million in December and $105.22 million in January 2025.
The United States imported the largest amount of rebar from Turkey in January, with 47,112 tons, compared with 49,880 tons in December and 29,953 tons in January last year. Other major sources of imported fittings in January include Portugal with 19,572 metric tons, Brazil with 17,011 metric tons, and South Korea with 9,225 metric tons
