The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that it has initiated an investigation into the circumvention of anti-dumping duties (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) on certain corrosion-resistant steel products (CORE) made in Indonesia using cold-rolled steel produced in Vietnam.
The investigation was launched at the request of domestic manufacturers Steel Dynamics Inc. and Nucor Corporation. DOC will determine whether the products in question bypass AD and CVD orders for CORE from Vietnam.
Current dumping rates range from 87.07-162.96 percent, while import subsidy rates for these products from Vietnam range from 0.30-257.83 percent.
