U.S. sheet coil imports totaled 53,277 tons in January 2026, up 4.5 percent from December and down 60.4 percent from January 2025, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Department of Commerce. In value terms, sheet coil imports totaled $37.57 million in January this year, up from $34.83 million in December and $102.98 million in January 2025.
The United States imported the most sheet coils from South Korea in January - 20,573 tons, compared to 15,594 tons in December and 13,377 tons in January 2025. Sources of imports of sheet metal coils in January are Canada - 16,845 tons, Turkey - 3,736 tons, Brazil - 3,657 tons and Sweden - 2,953 tons
