According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, wire exports to the United States totaled 6,737 tons in January this year, up 12.5% month-on-month and down 15.0% year-over-year. In value terms, wire exports were $18.1 million in January, up from $17.7 million in the previous month and $20.56 million in the same month in 2025.
The United States shipped the most wire to Canada in January with 2,831 tons, compared to 1,845 tons in December and 3,297 tons in January 2025. Another popular destination was Mexico with 2,702 metric tons. There were no other significant destinations (1000 mt or more) for wire laid in the US in January.
