The number of gas drilling rigs increased by three to 130 , and the number of oil drilling rigs increased by two to 411. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States decreased by 42 compared to the same period last year.
. Meanwhile, Canada's drilling rig count fell by 11 to 142 rigs in the week ended April 2. The number of drilling rigs in Canada decreased by 11 compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
