According to the Beijing Municipal Plan of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, released on April 8, Beijing plans to implement 100 major projects in 12 sectors with a total investment exceeding 4.0 trillion yuan ($0.58 trillion).
The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission has outlined major strategic objectives, including the construction of a political center, a cultural center, an international exchange center and international science and technology innovation center, coordinating the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, developing a modern industrial system, cultivating a dynamic domestic demand system, preserving and improving people's livelihoods, integrating urban and rural areas and coordinating regional development, strengthening the modernization of metropolitan management, and building beautiful buildings in Beijing and ensuring security in the capital.
