In March this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports fell 11.8 percent year on year to $1.15 billion, according to statistics released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the month, the country's iron and steel import value was $905 million, down 15.4 percent year on year.
In the first three months of the year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports fell eight percent to $3.42 billion, while the iron and steel producing country's import value was $2.21 billion, up 27 percent less than last year
