Monthly steel exports in February this year were down 0.3 percent from January and down 8.3 percent year-on-year to 562,729 tons, according to U.S. Commerce Department export data. In value terms, U.S. steel exports totaled $1.05 billion in February, up from $1.04 billion in January and $1.08 billion in February 2025.
Steel exports to Mexico in February were up 9.9 percent from January and up 16.6 percent year over year to 357,949 tons, while exports to Canada were down by 17.9 percent month on month and decreased. 34.8 percent from February 2025 to 171,155 tons
Other top U.S. steel export destinations in February included Brazil with 3,584 tons, India with 1,889 tons and China with 1,477 tons
