In March, Brazil exported 26,800 metric tons (t) and imported 11,800 t of CRC, up from 4,000 t and 25,000 t in February, respectively.
The huge increase in exports reflects a one-off shipment from Usiminas to Germany, 23,200 t at $655/t, while South American countries were shipped 3600 tons at US$1037/tonne.
Imports were from South Korea (7900 tonnes at US$534/tonne), China (3800 tonnes at US$616/tonne) and Europe (100 tonnes at US$1008/tonne), also on FOB terms.
South Korea is gradually replacing China. as the main exporter of CRC to Brazil, since imports of this product from China are subject to prohibitive anti-dumping duties in Brazil
